About Roseann

I've worked hard all my life, doing what most people would call men's jobs. I spent 30 years in maintenance at Kenosha Unified School District, where I cleaned boilers, did ballasts underneath the light bulbs putting wires together, and cleaned rooms and bathrooms. Before I retired 2-3 years ago, I had worked in so many different places and industries - factories, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, you name it, I've done it. When I first got married, I worked at a foundry at Bucks and Screws where we made spouts with knobs that turn, and I had to grind the threads in on a machine. I worked at LeBlanc for 5 years making instruments before it closed down. I was assistant manager for Health and Beauty at Walmart when it first opened. I worked as a waitress and hostess at Victoria while I was subbing to get into Unified. I've had hard jobs all my life - men's work in foundries with nothing but screws on the floor and dirt grease. I was supposed to be a veterinarian and my dad had all the college tuitions ready, but I went and got married instead. Now I'm retired, but the school district keeps calling me back because they're so short-staffed. I can work when I want - one or two days a week - but I have to watch my hours because I get an ETF pension and can't work over 880 hours a year for state, city, or federal employers. I still go to the gym every day and don't have any health issues for my age, and I don't take any medication.
