Her Story
About Rosey
’m Rosey C. Jinnah, founder of RJ Leaders, a human development enthusiast, and a proud mom of two boys. For over 15 years, my work has focused on empowering people, especially youth, to grow, lead, and thrive.
With a Master’s in Education and a background in Communication Studies, I began my career in higher education before joining iMentors. Over nearly a decade, I helped scale the program from one center to 28 nationwide, impacting thousands of youth and families. I led the development of training systems and traveled across the U.S. to build and equip teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and heart in every community.
During the pandemic, my coaching work organically grew into RJ Leaders, a leadership development company built entirely through referrals. Today, I partner with organizations across sectors to design customized experiences that strengthen leadership, culture, and connection.
I remain deeply committed to youth development and currently serve as Honorary Secretary with the Ismaili Council for Central USA, supporting various teams and boards as part of my dedication to community impact and civic engagement.
Above all, my most meaningful role is being a mother. Raising my two boys while building a purpose driven career continues to shape my leadership, resilience, and perspective.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Rosey
01What do you attribute your success to?
I believe my greatest attribute for success is my ability to lead with balance and purpose across every role I hold. I’ve learned how to intentionally show up for my family, my professional work, and my service, without compromising the value of any one of them.
At the heart of that balance is servant leadership. For nearly 15 years, I have served with the Ismaili Council for Central USA, beginning as a local volunteer and growing into senior leadership. What started as simply giving my time became one of the most defining parts of my life.
Through service, I found a deeper sense of purpose. While success can often be measured by what we achieve, my journey has been equally shaped by what I give back. That commitment continues to ground me, guide me, and fuel the impact I strive to make in every space I’m in.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be intentional about who you are becoming, not just what you are doing.
Early on, it’s easy to focus on titles, roles, and the next opportunity. But I learned that how you show up, how you treat people, and the impact you leave behind matter far more than any position you hold.
That perspective shifted everything for me. It guided me to invest in relationships, stay grounded in my values, and choose work that aligns with purpose, not just progression. Over time, I’ve seen that when you focus on becoming the right person, the right opportunities tend to find you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is simple. If you love what you do, you will do it with love, and that changes everything.
Take the time to really understand what feels right for you. Learn to trust your gut, even when your mind or outside voices try to override it. That kind of self awareness takes practice, but it’s one of the most powerful skills you can build.
There isn’t one path to success, and there isn’t one definition of it either. Your journey can look completely different from someone else’s, and that’s more than okay. What matters is that it feels true to you.
When you lead with authenticity and choose what you genuinely enjoy, you create a life that not only looks good, but feels right.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance giving my all with setting healthy boundaries. I naturally want to show up at 100 percent in everything I do, which made it difficult early on to say no or step back without feeling guilty.
Over time, I’ve learned that being everywhere is not the same as being effective. Real impact comes from being present and intentional, and that requires prioritization and boundaries. It’s something I continue to work on, especially because I care deeply about the people and spaces I’m part of.
At the same time, leadership development itself is constantly evolving. Staying relevant means continuously learning, adapting to generational shifts, and creating content that truly resonates. I challenge myself to keep things fresh, engaging, and meaningful, so that what I share doesn’t just stay with someone professionally, but impacts them personally as well.
That balance between pouring into others and protecting my own capacity is an ongoing journey, and one that continues to shape me as a leader.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my work and personal life are what I call my three C’s: communication, compassion, and commitment.
Communication is foundational. It can build or break any relationship, whether in your career, your family, or your community. I’ve learned the power of pausing, reflecting, and responding with intention rather than reacting in the moment. That shift alone has transformed how I connect with others.
Compassion is something I’ve come to understand more deeply over time. It’s easy to say we’re compassionate, but real compassion requires setting aside your own biases and listening to truly understand, not just to respond. Sometimes it simply means saying, “I may not fully understand, but I’m here.” That kind of presence matters.
Commitment is what grounds me. I believe in showing up fully for the things I choose, even when it’s difficult. It’s a value I live by and one I instill in my children, that if you commit to something, you see it through.
These three values shape how I lead, how I build relationships, and how I show up every day. Underneath all of it is my faith and sense of purpose, which continue to guide my commitment to service and giving back.
