Her Story
About Rosita
I've been in my field for over 25 years, and what led me to my current position is that I just wanted to do something different. Right now I'm the Partnership and Development Director at Quick and Easy Automotive Club, a mobile auto repair shop where I oversee multiple departments including HR, the mechanic/technical division, operations, and sales. I partner with major companies like Toyota and Lexus, as well as local car dealerships, and we work with rental car agencies like Enterprise, Avis, and Turo. My position involves working with cross-functional teams to make sure everything is aligned to the company's mission statement, generating new business and revenue for the company, and conducting meetings every Monday and Friday to figure out where we are, where we need to be, who we need to hire, what departments are scaling, and reviewing the budget. Before this role, I worked extensively in nonprofit organizations as a program director overseeing parenting programs, counseling programs, and tutoring programs. I also worked with Gang Alternative as a program manager overseeing their workforce development program, where we worked with young adults from 18 to 24 who were in the justice system, training them for six weeks while we paid them, and then transitioning them to employer payroll if they were a good fit. The goal was to reduce recidivism in the community. My main area of expertise is working in companies where I can change the structure, mentor and coach others to become perfectionists at what they do, and I have extensive background in training. I'm passionate about being in a leadership role where I can teach others and train them in my position so they can move up while I advance. I hold a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and an MBA in operational management. I never stop growing or learning, and I'm currently in real estate school. I also have a record label that I'm working on with my son. I'm originally from Freeport, Bahamas, and I'm a mother of three.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received as a leader is that you never stop growing. There's always room to help someone else advance to where you're advancing to. Don't ever look at it like you're just a leader and everybody is below you. I've learned that everyone is a leader in every position that they may have, even if they're in positions that are below me, they're still a leader, and I always tell them that. No matter what, you're still a leader, because you help bring a lot of attributes to the company.
