Her Story

About Roxane

Roxane Rasolomanana serves as an Academic Coordinator, a role she has held since the end of December, supporting students from multiple high schools in the Clark County School District. With a background that includes work in real estate, entertainment at a music company, healthcare as a behavioral therapist, and research as a teacher assistant, research assistant, and tutor, she discovered a consistent passion for education. As a first-generation student who navigated college challenges, she now advises high school and college students, with a particular focus on financial literacy. Roxane earned her bachelor's degree in quantitative economics from San Diego State University and her master's degree in business analytics from Cal Poly Pomona, experiences that also led her to tutor in the economics department. She has participated in cryptocurrency conferences in New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, which inspired her to create the InvestMatch app. The app provides jargon-free, accessible investment education drawn from real financial data, with plans to partner with financial institutions for direct advisory services. Roxane is a member of Founders Network, Mentor Cruise, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers San Diego section as a graduate student member. Born and raised in Madagascar, she learned English in sixth grade after attending a French school and attributes her success to discipline developed through competitive sports and a belief that the world is your oyster if one puts in the effort. She values passion and hunger in others and enjoys learning from people about what drives them.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Roxane

01What do you attribute your success to?

I was born and raised in Madagascar. I didn't grow up speaking English. I learned English when I was in 6th grade in middle school... I was taught discipline... just throughout my life... the world is your oyster. Like, truly, like, as long as you put in the effort, which is why the whole thing that I was saying earlier, like, just do it.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Just do it. A lot of times people overthink things... what sucks even more is not taking the leap of faith... I've gained so much experience in so many different fields... it got me to where I am.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I love people that are passionate... I respect passion, I respect hunger... I love meeting people, I love learning from people, I love talking to people, I love listening what makes them passionate, why they love what they love, because everybody has a reason for liking.
