She previously volunteered with Boxer Rescue and enjoys camping, family time, and caring for her Boston Terrier dogs.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Roxanne

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from having great mentors who believed in me and gave me chances even when I lacked formal qualifications. I had leaders who saw my drive and dedication and supported me in finishing my education while promoting me. I bring passion and a strong connection to the mission, whether in museums or healthcare, and I work hard to figure things out. Those people who took a chance on me have been huge in my journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice is to stay true to myself and not compromise what I believe in, even while adapting to culture. Also, remember that the further you grow, the lonelier it gets, and that's okay. Surround yourself not by numbers but by true friendships and support systems that really matter.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be flexible and humble. Voice your opinion and input to help make a difference in the healthcare industry. You can really make an impact even if you're not on the care side. The work you do every day has meaning and positive impact.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include doors closing, doubters pushing me to prove myself through results, and the huge learning curve when switching from museum industry to healthcare with its different language. Opportunities are making a real difference in families' and patients' lives by reducing stress during difficult times, advocating for positive change, educating families, and supporting care providers by streamlining administrative processes.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity are huge. If you make an error or mistake, own up to it, learn from it, and continue to evolve. Go after your passion because life is short and you need to enjoy what you do.
