Her Story

About Ruby

Ruby Ulloa is an Employee Benefits Strategist based in Miami, Florida, currently affiliated with Risk Placement Services and Savoy Associates, where she works as a Broker Consultant and Business Development Executive. With more than two decades of experience in the insurance industry, she has built a career spanning independent brokerage, work with a Professional Employer Organization at ADP TotalSource, and roles on both the carrier and wholesale sides of the business, giving her a well-rounded perspective on employee benefits and group insurance solutions.

A graduate of Miami Dade College with an AS and BAS in Communications, Management & Supervision, and further training through the Institute of Business & Finance, Ulloa pairs her academic background with an insurance license and hands-on industry expertise. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she has made bilingual communication a hallmark of her career, using her language skills to bridge gaps between brokers and the diverse communities they serve, with her outreach extending to other languages such as Creole depending on regional need.

Beyond her client-facing work, Ulloa is a dedicated advocate for inclusion within the insurance profession, a field where she is often the only woman of color in the room. She serves as President-Elect of the Florida chapter of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals and previously held the role of Chapter Treasurer, while also founding the Coalition for Inclusion and Benefits and Insurance, through which she has pioneered Spanish-language continuing education courses. Her commitment to mentorship carries into her volunteer work as well, including her role as a Student Mentor with Junior Achievement USA and her service to the Lotus House Women's Shelter.
