About Rupal
I work in healthcare IT at Kaiser Permanente, where I manage a portfolio of projects with expertise spanning a wide range of technologies. My technical skill set comes from my computer science background and the vast number of projects I've worked on over the years. I work on everything from telephony to deployments of new enterprise-level technologies that affect hospitals and medical office buildings, mainly focusing on anything that affects a desktop or mobile device, peripherals, credit card systems, pharmacy applications, and physical security systems where people use their badges to tap into doors. One of my biggest projects has been telecritical care, which is huge in healthcare right now for remote support of the most critical patients in ICUs. I've been with Kaiser from the beginning on this, from when we piloted it, and now it's throughout Kaiser Permanente. We got recognized for the homegrown database that accompanies the application, and I was the IT PM helping through the design process, software development, and deployment. I've touched every single Northern California hospital and have been physically in each of the spaces at least two or three times through the course of my work. Even though I'm a regional employee, I have knowledge of almost every medical center, and leaders sometimes ping me to bounce ideas because of this historical knowledge and my understanding of the resources at each site.
