Rushan Abbas

I am a human rights advocate and international business development professional with a diverse career spanning nonprofit leadership, global trade, and international program management. I am the Founder and Executive Director of the Campaign for Uyghurs, a role I have held since October 2019, where I lead advocacy and awareness efforts on behalf of Uyghur human rights, working to amplify their voices and advance justice on the global stage.

Prior to this role, I served as Director of Business Development at ISI Consultants for over four years, where I drove business growth and strategic partnerships. Before that, I spent nearly five years at LEO A DALY, an international architecture, planning, engineering, and interior design firm, where I served as Director-International for over a year, leading international business development and client relations, and as International Program Manager for over three years, managing global projects and programs. I also served as an International Trade and Marketing Consultant for over a year, advising clients on global market entry and trade strategies.

Earlier in my career, I spent over six years at Pelco by Schneider Electric, where I served as International Marketing Liaison for nearly four years and as International Account Specialist for over two years, supporting international marketing and account management efforts.

Across my career in nonprofit leadership, international business, and advocacy, my work has been driven by a commitment to justice, human rights, and building bridges across cultures and communities. Whether I am leading a human rights campaign, driving international business development, or managing global programs, I bring a strategic mindset, strong cross-cultural communication skills, and a dedication to making a positive impact on the world. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue advocating for human rights and advancing international cooperation through my work at the Campaign for Uyghurs.
