Her Story

About Ruth Esther

Ruth Esther Ebori is the Founder and CEO of Triune Nutricosmetics, a science-backed beauty-from-within brand focused on evidence-based formulation, transparency, and sustainable design. Based in Washington, D.C., she operates at the intersection of nutraceuticals, skincare, and functional wellness, developing dietary supplement solutions that support skin health through an inside-out approach.

She founded Triune Nutricosmetics to challenge conventional beauty paradigms and introduce a new standard, one grounded in clinically studied ingredients, radical transparency, and ethical responsibility. The brand emphasizes full visibility across formulation, sourcing, and testing, with the goal of empowering consumers to make informed decisions about their health and beauty.

Esther’s transition into wellness entrepreneurship was shaped by both her academic background and personal experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a master’s degree in Management, and an MBA, along with graduate studies in Cybersecurity Risk Management at Georgetown University. Prior to founding Triune, she built a career in logistics and international freight forwarding, where she launched and operated her own company.

Her entry into the beauty and wellness space was deeply personal. After years of navigating persistent skin concerns and encountering solutions that offered only short-term results or came with unwanted side effects, she began exploring a more holistic, root-cause approach, one that considers the role of internal factors such as nutrition, hormonal balance, and stress in skin health. What began as a personal search evolved into a commitment to understanding the science behind skin health and translating it into effective, long-term solutions.

Today, Esther is actively engaged in the nutraceutical and beauty-from-within space, participating in founder communities, industry events, and educational initiatives that advance a more preventive, systems-based approach to skincare.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ruth Esther

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first and foremost to my faith and my relationship with God, which have grounded me and given me direction throughout my journey. Beyond that, my passion for this industry has played a central role. It doesn’t necessarily make the process easier, but it makes it deeply fulfilling and gives meaning to the work.

I would also point to resilience and a willingness to keep learning. My academic background reflects that curiosity, but more importantly, I’m not afraid to evolve, take risks, and learn through failure. Building meaningful relationships within the industry has also been essential, those connections have shaped my perspective and supported my growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received came from my parents, who encouraged us from a very young age to create our own path and not be afraid to lead. That belief instilled a level of confidence in me early on that I now realize is critical in entrepreneurship.

This journey requires you to believe in yourself even when things are uncertain, or when you’re stepping into unfamiliar territory. Because of that foundation, I’ve been able to keep going, even in moments where I didn’t feel the most prepared or the most talented.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the health and wellness industry is to be intentional about building relationships early on. It’s a highly competitive and crowded space, and one of the most impactful decisions I made was to connect with people who had more experience than I did.

I would encourage them to step outside of the digital space and physically go where the industry lives, attend conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities. There is so much to learn from being in those environments, asking questions, and engaging with others.

Most importantly, don’t isolate yourself. Growth in this industry does not happen alone. Surround yourself with people who can guide, challenge, and support you. Building a strong community is not just helpful, it’s essential to making informed decisions and growing with confidence.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the beauty and wellness industry today is differentiation in an increasingly saturated market. There are more brands than ever, and many are saying similar things, which makes it difficult for consumers to distinguish between what is truly effective and what is simply well-marketed.

Another key challenge is trust. Consumers are becoming more informed and more skeptical, they are questioning claims, ingredients, and brand transparency in ways they didn’t before. That raises the standard for brands to be not only effective, but also credible and ethically positioned.

At the same time, this shift creates one of the biggest opportunities. There is a growing demand, especially among younger consumers like Gen Z, for transparency, science-backed formulations, and a more holistic approach to health and beauty. They are looking beyond surface-level solutions and are more open to understanding the connection between internal health and the skin.

For brands that are willing to prioritize integrity, education, and long-term results over quick wins, this is a significant opportunity to build trust and create meaningful differentiation.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me, both personally and professionally, are integrity, transparency, sustainability, and trust. These aren’t just principles I believe in; they are the foundation on which I built Triune.

I was raised in Central Africa, where I witnessed the effects of environmental challenges early on. That experience shaped my awareness of sustainability and the responsibility we have to build businesses that respect the environment. It was important to me that Triune reflects that commitment in a meaningful way.

Integrity is equally central to how I operate, and that is deeply rooted in my faith. My relationship with God guides how I make decisions, how I treat people, and how I build my business. I believe that if you are creating something that people consume, there is a responsibility to be honest, to be transparent, and to prioritize their well-being above everything else.

That’s why transparency is such a key pillar for me. I want to create products that people can trust, not just because they see results, but because they understand what they’re taking and why. In an industry where clarity is often lacking, I see honesty and education not as weaknesses, but as a long-term advantage.
