About Rylee

Rylee Flickinger is an undergraduate student at the University of Akron, where she is pursuing a bachelor's degree anticipated to be completed in 2029 after graduating high school in 2025. She has been active in the law, politics, and higher education fields since beginning college in 2024. In her role as an undergraduate student assistant in the legal clinic, Rylee supports intake processes and administrative tasks for individuals previously incarcerated, particularly through the Governor's Expedited Pardon Project. Her involvement extends to several organizations such as the Undergraduate Student Government, Ignite for Women in Politics, and College Democrats. She completed an internship at the district office of Congresswoman Amelia Sykes, gaining experience in constituent services and government operations. Rylee serves as co-founder of the Stark County Young Democrats and as a Democracy Fellow with the Campus Vote Project, where she focuses on voter registration, education, and engagement for college students. She also volunteers with the League of Women Voters on high school voter registration efforts and works with the Democratic Party in Stark and Summit Counties, as well as various Democratic candidates. Through advocacy work including letters, phone banks, and legislative visits, Rylee has developed a strong passion for civic participation and plans to attend law school within the next five years.
