Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, determination, and the love and inspiration of my family. Raising two sets of twins on my own while building my career taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work, and now I am blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren. My journey has inspired me to show divorced women that life is never over you can always begin anew, and the sky is the limit. Much of my motivation comes from my children, who encouraged me to pursue my passion for writing by surprising me with a laptop, reminding me it was time to write for myself. I now write under the pen name Asha More, creating stories that uplift and inspire, just as my family has always inspired me.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received has come from several influential people in my life. My sister-in-law, Vanessa, has been a consistent source of inspiration, encouraging me to pursue my goals with determination and integrity. My best friend, Shewania More, has been invaluable in supporting my creative endeavors, providing thoughtful feedback, proofreading and editing my work, and offering practical advice that has helped me grow both professionally and personally. Their guidance and encouragement have shaped the way I approach challenges and opportunities, and I continue to draw on their wisdom as I advance in my career and creative pursuits.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the healthcare and medical administration field is simple: go for it. Pursue your education, because this industry is full of opportunities, and don’t be afraid to start somewhere and gain hands-on experience. The work can be challenging, but it is incredibly rewarding to know that you are making a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are loyalty, dedication, and honesty. I am deeply committed to my career and passionate about my writing, finding fulfillment in creating stories that inspire others. Outside of work, I cherish time spent with my wonderful family and nurturing my personal interests most recently, caring for my four hens and planning to bring a rooster to our little homestead. Balancing professional growth with family, creativity, and a love for simple, meaningful pursuits keeps me grounded and motivated.
