Her Story
About Sabrina
Sabrina Lee is the founder of Gilded Events Company, also known as Gilded by Sabrina, a wedding planning firm based in Katy, Texas, specializing in multicultural weddings. Drawing from her Taiwanese heritage and her husband’s Indian background, Sabrina is passionate about helping couples thoughtfully blend cultural traditions and create celebrations that honor both families. Her interest in multicultural wedding planning grew after planning her own wedding three years ago, where she experienced firsthand the beauty of bringing different traditions together.
Before launching her own company, Sabrina gained valuable experience under the mentorship of a Houston-based wedding planner, where she successfully helped plan 10 weddings. She has since expanded her expertise through Gilded Events Company, independently coordinating multiple multicultural celebrations, including Chinese-Puerto Rican and Vietnamese-Taiwanese weddings. After being laid off from her corporate position in June 2026, Sabrina made the bold decision to pursue wedding planning full-time, turning a challenging career transition into an opportunity to build the business she had envisioned.
A Rutgers graduate who grew up in the tri-state area, Sabrina credits much of her entrepreneurial spirit and resilience to her mother, whose own determination and business journey inspired her deeply. She is also committed to continuous learning and recently pursued an MBA to broaden her knowledge and expertise while remaining adaptable in a changing world. Sabrina encourages aspiring women entrepreneurs to persevere, surround themselves with supportive people, and remain open to new opportunities. As she continues growing Gilded Events Company beyond the Houston market, she hopes to build a lasting brand centered on cultural appreciation, meaningful celebrations, and personalized experiences for every couple.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sabrina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to my family, especially my mother, who was the first person to encourage my entrepreneurial spirit. She is incredibly driven and entrepreneurial, having overcome challenges from a young age, earned her technical degree in Taiwan, and built her own flower shop. Her resilience, positive mindset, and constant drive to pursue new ideas have inspired me to think creatively and never give up. I see her as more than just my mother—she is one of my greatest role models, and I’m grateful for the values she has instilled in me.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is simple: don’t give up, and surround yourself with people who inspire and support you. I’m fortunate to have an amazing circle of women business owners who motivate me through their hard work and determination. Learn from the people around you, take inspiration from their journeys, and don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Having multiple paths and a strong support system can make all the difference, especially when unexpected changes arise.
