Sabrina McKain, BSN, BS, RN, CCHP
Sabrina McKain, BSN, BS, RN, CCHP, is an accomplished Registered Nurse and healthcare educator with over 28 years of diverse experience spanning hospital, clinical research, and correctional healthcare settings. She currently serves as the Florida Statewide Disabled/Impaired Inmate Coordinator for Centurion Health, where she works to enhance the care of incarcerated individuals with disabilities and impairments. Throughout her career, Sabrina has held leadership roles including Nurse Manager, Hospital House Supervisor, and Corporate Nurse Educator, and has contributed to clinical trials in the early treatment of HIV/AIDS, collaborating with the FDA to bring new therapies to market. Her approach to nursing and education is rooted in empathy, transparency, and a commitment to ensuring every student and patient receives the best care possible.
Sabrina’s educational background is equally impressive. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from East Tennessee State University, and she is currently completing her Master’s in Nursing Education at Western Governors University. She also holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Southwest Virginia Community College and is a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) and CPR Instructor & Trainer. A trained SAMHSA Trauma-Informed Care Trainer and Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention specialist, Sabrina brings both expertise and compassion to every aspect of her work.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Sabrina is passionate about education, literature, and family. She enjoys reading, writing poetry and short stories, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She also actively supports charitable causes, including donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Known for her visionary leadership, dedication to patient advocacy, and ability to build educational programs from the ground up, Sabrina continues to inspire both colleagues and students to pursue excellence in healthcare and nursing education.

I attribute my success to my dedication to doing everything to the best of my ability and consistently striving for excellence in all that I undertake.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering this industry to never stop learning and to always ask questions. It’s equally important to be helpful and supportive to others along the way.
