Her Story
About Sabrina
I started in retail, worked up to management, then moved into recruiting after a coordination position at an agency. I began at the front desk, learned the business, supported major accounts, and transitioned to corporate recruiting in tech. My background in nursing school and as a CNA shifted to talent acquisition, which I see as another form of support.

Ten minutes with Sabrina
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from faith first and foremost, along with determination. I researched and studied for a job I knew nothing about and got it despite not meeting every requirement.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Show up completely as yourself. We all have experiences that shape us and something to offer. Within a team, bring your entire self to what you do and do it passionately.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
They can do it. Nothing is impossible. If you have an interest, go forward and build foundational blocks. Start as a coordinator or scheduling coordinator as a gateway opportunity. Look at job descriptions and volunteer to gain experience.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There are many opportunities to enter talent acquisition at gateway levels like agencies before moving corporate. Challenges include burnout from daily people interactions and having to deliver bad news like rejections while building relationships.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith is a big driver. Trust, tenacity, and respect are also very important.
