Her Story
About Sabrina
I started in the child support program through a part-time administrative job suggested by my career advisor while finishing my degrees. It got in my blood and heart, and I've been there ever since for 23 years. Now I manage grant administrators handling innovative federal grants. I serve on national child support boards and focus on building relationships to drive successful partnerships and innovations.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sabrina
01What do you attribute your success to?
My continuous drive to do better for myself, the community, and humanity. I never accept the status quo or a simple no, always striving to figure out how to think outside the box, build better communities, and never give up.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't worry about what other people say or think about you. Be your authentic self, strive to better the work and humanity, treat people right with respect and dignity. Sometimes you're not everyone's cup of tea and that's okay. Fight for what you believe is right.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Treating people with respect and dignity. Coming from poverty and Section 8 housing, I understand that people in crisis need help right now and may not have the mental capacity to process everything, so meeting them with humanity in the moment is key.
