Sadie holds certifications including ServSafe along with credentials in food safety and food service management, which she obtained to support her career in restaurant management. Her professional experience includes customer service and retail roles beginning in 2013, and she has long been drawn to the hospitality industry due to her love of cooking and the consistent demand for restaurant work. She emphasizes quality and effort in her professional life and credits her drive to succeed to her wish to make her father proud, noting that he was able to witness her achievements before his passing in 2023. Sadie advises pursuing a career one loves rather than one chosen solely for financial gain, and she values family, love, and good memories above all.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sadie
01What do you attribute your success to?
Wanting to make my dad proud. He passed away in 2023 but got to see me be successful, sober, and actually taking care of myself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do something you love, and make your career something you love, not something you dread. Make sure the path you choose is what will make your heart happy, not make you the most money.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It seems like managers are more worried about numbers and time than getting things right. The customer service part of the restaurant system is down. It's all about money, and managers won't take responsibility for their mess-ups. There's no trying to make things right.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Professionally, quality and effort. Family is my biggest value. Love and good memories.
