About Sahana
She is a dedicated undergraduate researcher and aspiring healthcare professional with a strong foundation in rehabilitation science, clinical research, and patient care. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, she is a Frederick Honors College Research Scholar and Co-President of Food Recovery Heroes. She currently serves as a Patient Care Technician in the Float Pool at Allegheny Health Network, providing direct patient care across multiple units. At the University of Pittsburgh, she serves as Head Teaching Assistant for Foundations of Biology II, where she leads recitations, creates review materials, and mentors students. She also works as a Research Assistant IV at the UPMC-University of Pittsburgh Claude D. Pepper Center, where she maintains and analyzes the Center's longitudinal research database, supports community engagement studios, and spearheads large-scale recruitment initiatives reaching over 10,000 households. She has also interned as a Clinical Research Intern on an NIH-funded study and as a Physical Therapy Aide Volunteer at NovaCare Rehabilitation. In addition, she serves as Healthcare Sector Head and Investment Analyst for Smart Woman Securities at Pitt, conducting DCF valuations and stock analysis. She is recognized as a driven, compassionate, and intellectually curious leader who is deeply committed to advancing aging research, improving patient care, and making a meaningful impact in healthcare.
