Her Story
About Sai
Sai Kondakkagari has spent four years working in healthcare before transitioning into a Project Manager role focused on Project Portfolio Management. She currently works at Forge and Power, a company that evolved from MGM Transformers, where she gained hands-on management experience in a legacy organization that became public. Sai earned her Master of Public Health from Texas A&M Commerce after building a science foundation with biotechnology and a post-graduate degree in biochemistry in India. She completed an internship with the Texas State Health Department Services and is now pursuing an MBA in organizational leadership. Sai attributes her success entirely to her parents and draws on values of accountability, making a meaningful difference, and sticking to timelines in her work. She sees strong opportunities to apply her public health and management expertise toward starting non-profit organizations and community awareness programs in India, especially as healthcare advances rapidly with new technologies and AI.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sai
01What do you attribute your success to?
I credit my success completely to my mother and father. For all the hard work that they have put in to build this amazing space for me where I can strive, work through my goals, and just travel. It's always with two people supporting you. It's just great to have them. All the credit goes to them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice would be from Sudakar Varshne who said it's the intention that works. Even though I was skeptical about taking a project management role different from healthcare, he encouraged me to take it up and see. That led me to grow my career and start my Business Administration degree.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It is not always easy, but stick along when it's not easy, it's going to change.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities in starting non-profit organizations and community awareness initiatives back in India using my public health and management background. Lots of growth in healthcare with new technologies and AI moving at a fast pace.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
For work, the difference that we make and being accountable on the defense that's going in work, sticking to timelines and getting things done. For personal, be happy, be kind, things will work out.
