About Saira
Saira Tasmin is an environmental epidemiologist with around 18 years of experience in her field, including a decade in her current position. She completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Tokyo after working as a postdoc at another university in Japan. Tasmin's research centers on publishing studies that examine the health effects of various environmental exposures on human health. She is a member of the Society of Environmental Epidemiology, also known as ISCE, and the American Association of Public Health. Tasmin attributes her success to her passion for working in her field, and she credits her PhD supervisor with the advice to never give up. She values being polite to everyone and avoiding actions that might hurt others' feelings.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I haven't thought about it in that direction. I just love to work in my field.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received is from my PhD supervisor who always says never give up.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
To be polite to everybody and not to hurt other people's feelings.
