Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sakshi

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think passion is everything for being successful. Being passionate about whatever you do, be it research or industry. Research demands a lot of resilience and patience. Sometimes you won't get the desired results but you have to be willing to keep working and keep going.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I think it's important to dedicate a lot of time and be patient with your work because research takes a lot of resilience and patience. If you're really passionate about your field, that's the most important thing. Passion is everything for being successful.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Choose growth over perfection. Keep investing in your education and your skills because they compound over time. Be curious, keep asking questions, and don't let the fear of failure stop you from pursuing the opportunities that you want to pursue. Stay authentic, your values should really guide your decisions more than external validation or expectations. Be curious and stay resilient and keep learning and never underestimate the value of your voice.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There's a lot of uncertainty because experiments won't go as you expect them to be and you might not always get the desired expected results but you should be resilient with your work. There can be times when there can be a feeling of imposter syndrome like feeling like you don't belong despite your accomplishments. It's really important to overcome that and the fear of failure or rejection.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being honest and curious. It's really important to keep asking questions and trying to find answers.
