Dental Operations Leader
New Brunswick, NJ 08901

My journey in dental healthcare began over 20 years ago at the front desk and evolved into dental operations leadership through hands-on experience, curiosity, and continuous growth. Along the way, I’ve helped shape start-up practices and led multi-specialty environments, including oral surgery, pediatrics, and endodontics, which has given me a deep understanding of how systems, teams, and communication come together to create a strong patient experience.

I value structure and accountability, but just as importantly, I value people. One thing I’ve always grounded myself in is perspective, putting myself in someone else’s shoes and asking, if I were the patient, what would I expect? What kind of experience would I want to have? That mindset has shaped the standards I hold for both operations and team performance. I believe in doing things the right way, not the easy way, and I don’t compromise when it comes to the quality of the patient experience.

I’ve always led by taking the time to understand different perspectives and bringing consistency and clarity to the environments I support.

As the industry continues to evolve with new technology and innovation, I remain committed to learning, adapting, and improving. For me, success is about building strong teams, creating stability within practices, and ensuring both patients and staff feel genuinely cared for.

At the end of the day, I believe lasting success comes from consistency, integrity, and never losing sight of the human experience behind every decision.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying consistent, being adaptable, and holding myself accountable. I’ve always been someone who focuses on solutions instead of problems, and I’m constantly looking for ways to improve whether that’s my own skill set or the systems around me. I take a lot of pride in bringing structure into operations, especially when it comes to building KPI-driven systems that make day to day workflows smoother and more sustainable.

I also lead with empathy. I make it a point to really listen to people, and understand where they’re coming from, and support their growth without judgment. Because I’ve worked my way up through different roles, I know what those challenges feel like and I lead from that experience. I believe in teaching, mentoring, and creating an environment where people feel supported, but also understand the level of accountability and standards expected.

I stay committed to continuous learning by attending industry events and dental conventions, while actively engaging in conversations around emerging trends, technology, and advancements in dental healthcare. It’s important to me that the systems I build aren’t just effective, but forward thinking.

At the same time, I’m someone who works well under pressure, collaborates easily, and can adapt across multi site environments. Those strengths have allowed me to build strong teams and deliver consistent, reliable results over time.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was, don't sell yourself short and never limit yourself to where you can go. That has stuck with me.

I’ve always been the type of person who wants more for myself and I mean that in the sense of growth, not just titles. I’m very strategic when it comes to my goals. Once I know what I want, I’ll research it, study it, and then actually apply what I’ve learned.

That mindset has pushed me to keep evolving, take on new challenges, and not limit myself.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give young women entering this industry is to never limit themselves, this field is bigger than it may seem, and there’s always more to learn. Dental healthcare, especially operations, is constantly evolving, so staying curious and open to growth is key. Be willing to learn, try new things, and understand that not everything will work the first time, and that’s part of the process. Growth comes from being willing to adapt and improve.

I also think that being able to understand others and see things from their perspective is one of the most important qualities you can bring into this field. When you’re constantly working with dentists, leadership teams, and patients, that ability will set you apart and strengthen how you lead and communicate.

Dentistry today is incredibly innovative, both clinically and on the operations side, especially with the integration of new technology and AI. If you stay open, keep learning, and remain adaptable, there’s a lot of opportunity to build a meaningful and successful career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge I see right now in my field is that many practices are trying to grow and modernize without the operational foundation to support it.

There’s a strong push toward new technology, AI, and expansion, which is great but without clear systems, proper training, and real team alignment, those efforts don’t deliver the results people expect. That’s when the pressure starts to build and you begin to see the cracks, staffing shortages, burnout, and high expectations without the support to sustain them.

In my opinion, the focus needs to shift back to the fundamentals, building strong operations, supporting teams, and creating consistency. Without that foundation, growth simply isn’t sustainable.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

One of the most important values to me is work life balance. As a mom, being present for my family matters just as much as being present for my team. I make it a priority to show up for both whether it’s important moments at home or supporting the people I work with.

I also value being a good person and leading with integrity in everything I do. I try to keep my faith at the center of my life, which helps guide my decisions and keeps me grounded.

Over the years, I’ve also learned not to stress over things I can’t control. I believe that what’s meant for me will come, and what isn’t won’t and that mindset has helped me stay focused, balanced, and at peace both personally and professionally.
