What do you attribute your success to?
My primary areas of expertise include voiceover performance, podcast production, sound design, audio editing, and content development for creative projects. I also bring a strong background in marketing and outreach, along with experience collaborating with talent and creative teams. Prior to working in voiceover and audio production, I spent 17 years in manufacturing and product marketing, which continues to inform my strategic, organized, and client-focused approach. I have six years of professional experience in the voiceover and podcasting industry. I regularly collaborate with writers, voice talent, and sound designers across multiple projects, fostering creative partnerships and supporting collaborative storytelling. I attribute my success to staying humble, continuously learning, and remaining open to feedback while building genuine relationships within the creative community. Consistency, adaptability, and a willingness to support others have been key in successfully transitioning into this field. My most notable professional achievements include moving from a 17-year manufacturing career into full-time voiceover and podcast production, launching and producing two podcasts, and securing recurring commercial voiceover work with Black Horizon Brewing Company. Currently, I work full time as a voiceover artist and podcast producer, producing The Great Voice Podcast and Cold Reads / Hot Takes while continuing to grow my client base, expand my podcast projects, and pursue ongoing industry recognition.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came from Susan Berkley of The Great Voice Company, who encouraged me to approach my work with both confidence and curiosity. Her guidance emphasized building a sustainable business through consistency, professionalism, and genuine relationship-building, while staying open to growth and collaboration. That perspective has been instrumental in shaping both my podcast creation and overall business development.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to keep learning, stay patient, and remain resilient as they build their careers. Consistent skill development and a willingness to grow over time are essential.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Right now, one of the biggest challenges in the voiceover and audio production industry is navigating the impact of AI disruption, which is changing how projects are produced and how talent is sourced. There is also increased competition in the voiceover market, and maintaining steady client work can be difficult in a fast-moving landscape. These realities require adaptability, strong marketing, and a commitment to continuously improving skills.
At the same time, the industry is experiencing significant growth and new opportunities. Podcasting and digital media continue to expand rapidly, creating more demand for high-quality audio content and production. Remote work flexibility allows talent to collaborate with creators and companies anywhere in the world, which opens doors for diverse projects and partnerships. Additionally, there is a growing appreciation for authentic human storytelling and voice talent, which reinforces the value of real performance, emotional connection, and creative collaboration.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life include creativity, humility, collaboration, continuous growth, integrity, and community support. I strive to bring creativity and curiosity to everything I do, while remaining grounded, open to learning, and committed to supporting others. Collaboration and integrity are especially important in my industry, as strong relationships and trust form the foundation of meaningful creative work.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about hiking, reading, photography, and storytelling. I also enjoy video games and exploring audio creativity, which continue to inspire and influence my professional work in voiceover and podcast production. These interests help me stay balanced, energized, and connected to the creative world around me.
