About Sally
Sally Benson is the founder of Coastal Digital Consulting, based in Port Orange, Florida. After nearly a decade working inside an agency, she was headhunted into corporate America, where she served as digital marketing manager for a large international company, building and overseeing a team of 12 that included managers responsible for creatives, copywriting, web, and analytics. Following an acquisition that split the team, she was headhunted again to another sizable firm to help bridge digital gaps across businesses before leaving corporate America this summer to launch her own consulting practice. Benson's niche is providing unbiased agency audits that help clients evaluate performance, leverage investments, and determine when to handle work in-house versus engaging trusted agencies. Her areas of expertise include digital marketing strategy, SEO, AI optimization, digital advertising, and social advertising. She credits her success to the leaders who came before her, from whom she learned both positive and negative examples, as well as her inherent passion and personality. Integrity, defined as doing the right thing even when no one is looking, is the value she holds most important in her work and personal life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Those that have walked before me, that I've been able to learn from, especially leaders. And sometimes those leaders show me what I don't want to be like. But there's one thing that you can't teach, and that's someone's passion and personality, and that has taken me very far in my life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Connect with other businesswomen, get rid of imposter syndrome as best as you can. Go to conferences that matter, get plugged into the community, charity events. Build that hive mind. The best thing you can sell is yourself.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. That's your brand.
