Her Story
About Sally
Sally Coffin is an author and illustrator whose first book was published in 2015. She creates illustrated works focused on her ancestors, who were the founders of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, with the goal of teaching her children about their rich family history in an engaging way. Coffin attributes her success to the inspiration provided by her children, motivating her to contribute to making the world better by emphasizing the importance of learning from history and not forgetting those who came before. In addition to her creative pursuits, she volunteers at a local bookstore, where she displays her artwork and participates in community events without compensation. She advises young women entering the industry to be themselves, use their intuition, let their passion guide their goals, stay current with technology, and exercise caution in choosing collaborators.
