Her Story

About Samanda

I am the CEO and Creative Director of Lavender Yours, a lifestyle brand and stationery business I built in 2025. I sell journals, candles, and products that help people reconnect with themselves. One of our highlighted products is the 21-day journal full of affirmations for self-love and inner peace. I design all the products and work with manufacturers to make sure everything goes properly. Prior to starting my own business, I worked as a litigation paralegal and operations and business manager for 700 Law Group, and as a litigation paralegal for Morgan & Morgan. My background is that I have a law degree from Haiti, so I have been working essentially in the legal field. In my role at 700 Law Group, I was the bridge between international organizations and contractors, handling negotiations, reviewing contracts, and recruiting people. The year 2025 was a year of personal discovery for me. I felt detached from the person I was before and started thinking about what if I was something different than my own title, my race, and everything I had been taught. I also published my first book last year, Pistis: The Art of Trusting the Unseen, which is a spiritual reflection to help people see themselves and connect with their higher purpose. I have been writing for a very long time - my first job when I was young was to write for a newspaper back in Haiti. In the past, I was also the executive secretary for the Haitian Chamber of Commerce in Orlando.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The first challenge I am facing with Lavender Yours is to be seen, because even if you have a great purpose and a great product, if you do not have this visibility, it doesn't really matter. The other challenge is still part of the visibility - it's just the way of marketing yourself. That's one of the major challenges I am facing right now. When it comes to my book, writing it was one thing, but finding the proper audience for it is something else. I did not want to sound a little bit radical in a way that I am telling people this is what the truth is. I wanted to do a lot of research just to make sure that I'm not putting people in any type of direction or being a guide that I did not want to be, so I did not want to have this pressure on me or on the book.
