About Samantha
Samantha Abraham is a wedding planner and small business owner based in Florida. She has been in the wedding industry for about four years and opened her own business in June 2025 after graduating from the Rosen College of Hospitality. Samantha began her career with banquet serving for weddings during her first semester of school and worked her way up into planning. She currently balances her business with other jobs while aiming to make it full-time and expand into markets in Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. Samantha attributes her success to her supportive community, including her parents, former bosses who served as mentors, and the collaborative nature of the wedding industry. She advises those new to the field to prioritize networking, say yes to opportunities for experience, and remain open to meeting new people.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would just say like my community, the people around me. My parents have been super supportive, my dad's like also a business owner so he's helped me with like a lot of legal stuff and just like understanding taxes and finances and things like that. My mom has like flown down to Florida before and like assisted me on a wedding. All of my bosses that I've worked for, everyone in the wedding industry is like surprisingly so supportive.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Networking is really key. Always be open to meeting new people. Take any opportunity. In the beginning it wasn't so much about the money it was more about the experience. Just say yes to everything and be open to meeting everyone. Especially if you are just graduated high school or college-aged, people are way more likely to say yes to you if you're new to the industry and just want to get experience.
