Her Interview
Ten minutes with Samantha
01What do you attribute your success to?
My willingness to learn and the support of the people around me. I'm very open to constructive criticism and feedback. Whenever I'm given the opportunity to do anything or show my work, I put my 110% full effort in. And I have worked really hard on trying to not let fear or worries stop me from stepping outside of my comfort zone.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Not waiting until you feel completely ready to make an opportunity to take one. Sometimes you have to put yourself out there and step out of your comfort zone, and be open to new experiences. And just learn as you go. If you love the job, if you love what you're doing, it shouldn't feel like you're working.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take every single opportunity you can, even if you feel like you might not like it or if you're not ready. Don't be afraid to share your ideas or your opinion. Definitely make connections. And stay open to learning. What's gonna make you stand out is your creativity, so let that make you stand out.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Keeping up with constantly changing trends and algorithms that change at least every week. It can be hard to stand out while trying to maintain authenticity. Balancing multiple responsibilities has made me more organized and adaptable for fast-paced environments.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Treating everyone with respect, always treat everyone like how you would want to be treated. Being someone that someone else can depend on. Being able to be a leader with others. Definitely integrity, whether it's school, social life, work.
