Her Interview

Ten minutes with Samantha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the high expectations my parents set for my education when I was growing up. They encouraged me to strive for excellence from an early age, and that foundation taught me to continually challenge myself. Today, I carry that same mindset into my professional development, military career, and pursuit of my MBA.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to stay true to yourself and never feel that you have to change who you are to meet what you think an organization expects. Be authentic, trust your abilities, and remain confident in your values. If you stay true to yourself, everything will work out.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in my field is continued professional development through leadership, education, and mentorship. As military operations continue to evolve, developing future leaders, strengthening logistical capabilities, and pursuing advanced education create opportunities to better serve both the organization and the people we lead.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value integrity, authenticity, continuous learning, leadership, and service to others. I believe in leading by example, investing in the development of those around me, remaining committed to lifelong learning, and supporting others both professionally and personally.
