Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute God help me overcome challenges, I attribute community and family, and the word of God I attribute grit wanting more than just what I used to have. I wanted a life more abundantly and in order to do that I had to grab a hole of everything I thought I couldn’t. But my success comes from gratefulness comes from being humble, and it comes from knowing where I came from and knowing that Jesus has me and brought me to where I am and there’s so much more and it comes from me wanting others to come with me.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Knowing who your replacements are being humbled enough to know that you will have to train somebody to replace you but also knowing that you’re gonna have to train someone to replace you. Also, people are not gonna know that you care until people see that you care for them.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell her to stay focused. Don't allow distractions to veer off. Be true to yourself. Find out what she enjoys doing, because unless she finds something she enjoys doing, she's not gonna do it well. Because I am faithful to the Lord, she needs to be faithful to what the Word says, and be faithful to her body, and be faithful to wait for marriage.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Just getting the women to stay and avoid distractions.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The Lord is my number one value. Number two is family, but they weren't my values for a long time. The Lord and family are my number one and number two values. Number three is integrity and honesty. Without being honest and having integrity, you know, your word is all that you have. Without being honest and having integrity about your life, you really are falling flat.
