Her Interview

Ten minutes with Samantha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to never giving up and never keeping myself in a box. I am a hard worker and a go-getter who never took no for an answer. Dropping out of university and starting over at community college felt like the worst decision at the time but led to internships, meeting my mentor Sheriff Tuon, and building this career. That moment of pushing myself even when not 100% confident is what continues to drive me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received is to not give up and stop doubting myself when others don't see. We are often our own worst enemy, but there is a reason why I am at these tables and why I am so young in this career path. I remind myself that I am meant to be here.
