Her Story

About Samantha

Samantha Haun serves as President and Majority Owner of Presentation Concepts Corporation (PCC), an AV technology firm headquartered in East Syracuse, New York. Over her nearly decade-long career in the industry, she has built a reputation as a hands-on leader who remains directly engaged in the sales process, a practice she credits with earning her team's respect and shaping the company's culture. Her path to the AV field was not linear: she began her career in alarm monitoring services, later moved through sales and training positions, including travel-based point-of-sale training, before finding her footing at PCC, where she quickly earned her CTS certification and rose to become a top-performing salesperson in her territory.

Haun's academic background reflects a similarly varied path. She studied business administration and management at Columbia College, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science, and also pursued nursing studies at Crouse Hospital School of Nursing before shifting course toward business. She further strengthened her technical credentials with industry certifications from ClearOne and Atlona. Within just five years of joining PCC, she purchased the company from its previous owner, Tim Butts, who she credits as a mentor who not only gave her the opportunity to take the helm but continues to offer support and guidance. Under her leadership, PCC recently acquired a new headquarters building, with expansion plans underway to accommodate the company's growth.

Recognized for her contributions to the industry, Haun was named to a Central New York 40 Under 40 list and has received multiple Number One Salesperson awards from manufacturers. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the PSNI Global Alliance as Director at Large. Guided by a personal commitment to honesty, integrity, and empathy, she approaches both her business relationships and her team with transparency, viewing today's growing competition from new IT entrants into the AV space not as a threat, but as an opportunity to showcase the depth of experience and expertise that has defined her career.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Samantha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work and dedication. I've always been someone with a strong work ethic, and my goal was never simply to achieve greatness but to do the best I possibly could in every role I held. Every experience I've had has led me exactly to where I am today.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is to lead by example. Rather than just telling my team what to do, I show them. Staying actively involved in the sales process has earned me the respect of my team and helped shape our company culture.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The AV industry is changing as new IT providers enter the space, which creates additional competition and noise. At the same time, this shift presents an opportunity for me to demonstrate my experience and expertise. I've even seen customers who left for other providers return to us for repairs and support.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity are the values most important to me, along with having empathy for people when things fall apart. I never over-promise, and I make it a priority to never do anything shady in my personal or professional dealings.
