Samantha Jackson is a National Accounts Manager at Galloway Group Inc., where she brings a results-driven, collaborative approach to managing key client relationships and driving growth in the broadband and telecom sectors. Based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, she thrives in high-pressure environments and consistently transforms challenges into opportunities for innovation and long-term success.

Her career path into telecommunications began unexpectedly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she discovered a passion for the industry. While associated with Vecima Networks Inc., her mentor, Andrea, encouraged her to transition into the manufacturing side of the business—a pivotal step that ultimately led to her current role at Galloway Group where she plays an instrumental role in distributing broadband and utility fiber networks. Her daily activities involve travel, customer education, and strategic account management.

With professional experience spanning national accounts, solution selling, and distribution channel development, Samantha has built a reputation for strengthening client relationships and delivering measurable results. Prior to joining Galloway, she held roles with Vecima Networks Inc., Genuine Cable Group, and Ford Motor Company, where she gained extensive experience in sales and account management.

Samantha’s business foundation was established at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing. During her time at Wayne State, she was actively involved in athletics and professional organizations such as Women in Sports and Entertainment (WISE) and the Sports and Entertainment Business Association (SEBA).

Beyond her professional achievements, Samantha is deeply committed to mentorship, leadership, and community service. She served as an adult leader with Challenge Day for over a decade, supporting emotional and social growth in young adults. She also contributes to the Society of Telecommunications Engineers as Secretary of the Southern Florida Chapter, where she helps advance industry collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my father’s unwavering support and a mentor who profoundly influenced my life professionally, financially, and emotionally. My personal journey began with financial hardship and waitressing, and through perseverance and prayer, I was able to achieve milestones like homeownership and career success. I vividly remember a moment when I earned exactly my rent of $691 in tips on Cinco de Mayo—a moment I saw as a clear sign of the path ahead. As a results-driven professional, I thrive in high-pressure environments, consistently viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation. I embrace collaboration and adaptability, always looking for ways to turn obstacles into meaningful achievements for myself and my team.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering this industry, I emphasize the importance of persistence, seeking mentors, and never taking “no” as an answer. Active involvement in industry groups and networking has been key to my own success, and I encourage others to pursue guidance, build relationships, and take every opportunity to learn and grow.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value giving back both personally and professionally. Coaching youth sports, especially basketball and softball, has been a central part of my life. I’ve coached teenage girls from age 8 through their mid-20s and continue to help with the varsity program when possible. The experience has taught me how to manage competitive instincts while ensuring every player feels valued and supported. I’ve also been deeply involved with the Be The Change program, a nonprofit that runs emotional and social workshops in schools to promote anti-bullying and emotional awareness. I started as a student, became a high school leader, and eventually an adult leader, completing over 20 workshops. Through this program, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of equipping young people with tools for communication and problem-solving. Additionally, I remain active in Wayne State University’s alumni network, mentoring young women pursuing careers in sports and entertainment and helping them navigate their professional journeys.
