Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to following a path that truly aligns with my strengths and passions. While I initially pursued nursing in college, I quickly realized that my skills and interests were better suited for business. That pivot led me to the PEO (Professional Employer Organization) industry, where I’ve built a career specializing in payroll and business development. Today, I help small businesses streamline operations while ensuring their employees receive the benefits and support they deserve. I am especially proud that our company empowers small businesses to access affordable health insurance, and I am deeply committed to supporting their growth.

A significant milestone in my journey was earning a challenging payroll certification, which reinforced my belief that hands-on experience is just as powerful—if not more so—than formal education. Beyond my professional achievements, I actively engage with Payroll.org, where I benefit from a vibrant community and resources that continually enhance my expertise.

Through these experiences, I’ve learned that success comes from adaptability, dedication, and a genuine desire to help others thrive.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that building genuine relationships is essential for professional growth. Mentorship, particularly my experience working closely with former COO Brandi Lesher, has been pivotal in shaping my leadership style, emphasizing collaboration and shared responsibility. I also live by the principle, “Be well, work well,” prioritizing mental and physical health as the foundation for effective leadership and sustainable success.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to prioritize professional visibility and networking, both online and in person. LinkedIn is more than a platform—it’s a way to showcase your expertise and build credibility. Equally important is making in-person connections whenever possible, because this industry thrives on relationships and knowledge of the right people. Fostering genuine, long-lasting relationships is key to growth, opportunities, and sustained success.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges small businesses face today is providing quality, affordable health insurance to their employees. My team and I help companies overcome this hurdle by offering access to Fortune 500-level benefits, which not only supports employee well-being but also plays a critical role in retention and overall business growth.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life include continuous learning, integrity, and leading by example. I believe in gaining practical knowledge through real-world experience and enhancing it with professional certifications, such as my payroll certification. Managing payroll and business compliance requires precision and ethical responsibility, so I prioritize doing the right thing for both clients and employees. I also value transparency, celebrating achievements, and maintaining personal well-being, believing that a healthy, ethical leader is a more effective and inspiring one.
