Samantha Magnani is a seasoned prosecutor with over 25 years of courtroom experience and a strong commitment to justice. Currently serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice in Hartford, she prosecutes violent felony crimes, including homicides and sexual assaults. Prior to this role, she held leadership positions within the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, including Chief of the Construction Crimes and Labor Fraud Unit. Her career in criminal law is marked by significant contributions in trial litigation, white collar fraud, arson, and manslaughter investigations, and she has tried approximately 75 cases to verdict and presented over 200 to grand juries.

Samantha earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Richmond, where she was Associate Editor of the Law Review, and holds a B.A. summa cum laude in Criminal Justice from Long Island University. Her dedication to public service is matched by her leadership as a mentor and advocate for workers' rights. Outside the courtroom, Samantha enjoys golfing, biking, hiking, yoga, and spending time with family. She credits mentors like Deena Douglas and Paul Griatta for shaping her legal path and instilling the values of integrity and resilience.

One of the biggest challenges in the legal field right now is maintaining a healthy work-life balance, especially in high-intensity roles like prosecution where the emotional and time demands can be significant.
