Her Interview
Ten minutes with Samantha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to self-reflection, following my strengths and passions, and making intentional career decisions. My transition from finance to HR allowed me to pursue work focused on people, strategy, and organizational development, eventually leading me to launch my own consulting business. I believe staying true to myself, continuously learning, and building trusted relationships with clients have been key to my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to shift my thinking from “Why can’t this work?” to “How can I make this work?” That mindset helped me overcome doubts, pursue new opportunities, and make bold career decisions, including transitioning from finance into HR while completing my MBA. It taught me to focus less on the obstacles and more on the possibilities in front of me.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are health, creativity, personal growth, and maintaining an active lifestyle. I enjoy staying fit through walking, yoga, and fitness classes, while traveling and spending time outdoors help me recharge. I also value creativity and self-expression through writing, speaking engagements, panels, and podcasts, where I can share my experiences and connect with others.
