Samantha Wong
Samantha Wong is the Director of Development at ExtraFood, where she leads efforts to expand corporate partnerships and grow individual giving. With a dynamic international skill set in fundraising, Samantha brings creativity, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to every initiative. Her expertise allows her to cultivate meaningful relationships that support ExtraFood’s mission of fighting food insecurity and strengthening communities.
Before rejoining ExtraFood, Samantha gained extensive experience in fundraising and corporate partnerships, including working with the Red Cross and leading initiatives for a local food pantry in her hometown of Chicago. She also spent a decade living in China, an experience that deepened her understanding of cross-cultural community engagement and strengthened her passion for service-oriented work.
Outside of her professional life, Samantha is an avid runner, regularly completing half-marathons, and she enjoys spending quality time with her 96-year-old grandmother. Inspired by ExtraFood’s mission and the dedication of its volunteers and staff, she continues to bring energy, compassion, and innovation to her role in advancing the organization’s impact.

My ability to connect with people across cultures, combined with my multifaceted talents, has enabled me to drive meaningful results and build strong, lasting relationships in every endeavor.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are connection, care, and dedication. I enjoy staying active through running and cherish spending quality time with my 96-year-old grandmother, which reminds me of the importance of family, empathy, and living with purpose.
