Her Interview

Ten minutes with Samara

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to my mentor, Bob Ariano at Clinical Diagnostic Solutions, who guided me early in my career and provided the platform to learn, grow, and eventually achieve one of my proudest accomplishments—launching my own marketing consultancy. I am also deeply grateful to Dr. Lawrence Grobman and Dr. Heiger, who had faith in my ability to succeed while battling acoustic neuroma during college, being the youngest person diagnosed at that time, and throughout my continued journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't be too quick to answer and don't say the first thing that comes to mind. Take a moment to digest the question, then respond thoughtfully. If you don't know something, be honest about that, but then find the answer and solution. Always focus on finding solutions, not dwelling on problems.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

One of the biggest pieces of advice I would give to young women entering the industry is to always keep learning and working on yourself. Growth never stops, and the more you invest in your knowledge and skills, the more opportunities you’ll be able to create for yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The greatest opportunity in healthcare marketing today is leveraging AI technologies and strategically implementing AI-driven strategies into KPIs and business goals, including predictive analytics, personalized patient engagement, and automated campaign optimization. However, this comes with the challenge of navigating complex healthcare regulations while ensuring data privacy compliance and maintaining the human touch essential in healthcare communications. The increasing fragmentation of digital channels requires creating cohesive, omnichannel experiences while adapting to evolving patient behaviors and expectations. Additionally, there's significant opportunity in leveraging real-world evidence and developing patient-centric content that addresses health literacy gaps. Success requires balancing innovation with regulatory compliance, data-driven insights with empathy, and technological efficiency with meaningful patient outcomes.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Personally and professionally, I value exploration, balance, and connection. I love traveling and experiencing the outdoors, which allows me to recharge, gain perspective, and bring fresh ideas back into my work.
