Her Story

About Samatha

Samantha LLanos is the founder of Events on Purpose ATX, a community-focused event planning company dedicated to bringing together nonprofits, small businesses, artists, and musicians through collaborative events that create meaningful community impact. After launching the company with a soft opening in August 2024 and an official launch in November 2024, she has specialized in organizing fundraisers, toy drives, food drives, awareness events, music festivals, business launches, pop-up markets, and other initiatives designed to strengthen community connections. Her collaborative business model emphasizes partnership over competition, serving as the bridge that helps organizations and individuals work together toward shared goals. Before founding her business, LLanos built nearly fifteen years of experience in the food and beverage industry, beginning as a bartender before advancing into event management, field marketing, and marketing management roles. Her extensive background in hospitality and marketing provided the foundation for launching her own company after her marketing position was dissolved in 2023. Alongside her entrepreneurial pursuits, she earned an Associate of Applied Science in Music Business from Austin Community College in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies at Texas State University, with an anticipated graduation in 2027. Driven by a passion for community service and collaboration, LLanos is also co-founding SinnersDoGood, a nonprofit initiative focused on connecting service-industry professionals with volunteer opportunities while supporting existing nonprofit organizations. She attributes her success to persistence, consistency, and an unwavering determination to pursue her goals despite challenges. Through her leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and commitment to building meaningful partnerships, Samantha continues to create opportunities that empower communities, elevate local businesses and artists, and inspire positive social impact.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Samatha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my tenacity, persistence, and consistency. I do not let rejection stop me—if I hear "no," I find another way and keep moving forward. Repetition, determination, and a commitment to following my dreams have been the driving forces behind my personal and professional growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have embraced is to keep going and follow my dreams. I remind myself that I am fully capable of achieving my goals, and success comes from believing in myself, staying committed, and continuing to move forward regardless of obstacles.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to believe in themselves and not allow other people's opinions to define their potential. Understand what you truly want for yourself, pursue it with confidence, and trust your abilities. Anyone who knows their purpose and works toward it with determination is capable of accomplishing remarkable things.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in event planning is the increasing market saturation and competition within the industry. At the same time, the greatest opportunity lies in building meaningful partnerships and expanding professional networks. The relationships you develop create opportunities for collaboration, strengthen communities, and open doors that would not be possible alone.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Cooperation and collaboration are the values that guide everything I do. I believe communities become stronger when people work together rather than compete against one another. My business is built on fostering partnerships, supporting others, and creating opportunities that bring nonprofits, small businesses, artists, and communities together to make a greater collective impact.
