Sameena Ali is a software engineer with 15 years of experience in the IT industry. She earned a Bachelor of Technology in IT before entering the workforce and is now pursuing a master's degree through an online program while maintaining her full-time role. Motivated by being the first graduate in her family, she has sustained her career through personal milestones including raising two children. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Sameena actively contributes to the community by mentoring young students aspiring to IT careers, judging hackathons for college and high school teams, conducting research paper reviews, publishing papers, and delivering invited talks at conferences and AI summits. She emphasizes the importance of continuous learning, particularly in emerging areas such as AI, and encourages others to take initial steps toward their career goals without overplanning.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Keep learning because there is always something new out there in the world which you don't know. I have learned so much in my 15 years of IT industry but now had to learn a lot of new things called AI. There is no end card for that. You have to open your eyes and ready to learn something new in our everyday life. If you think you stopped I'm done I know everything I'm done with it then you cannot grow in your careers.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be so much scared. Get into it first then we'll figure out the rest of the things. I was so much scared when I started my career but I had a lot of aspirations and aims within myself. If I sustain on the path on the journey I've figured out a way to do that. Everyone who wants to do so much in their career just first do a first step then we can figure out the rest of the things. Do not make entire plan on the beginning itself. First enter it start doing it then you will figure out what is your way rest of your career.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Sustaining in this industry as a woman for that long is the much trouble. When I joined I did not see any older women in companies only youngsters. After marriage or after baby a lot of them are quitting the job. I promised myself I shouldn't be doing that even after a baby I should continue and come back to work. I was able to continue even after two babies.
