Her Interview

Ten minutes with Samira

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, staying consistent, and being willing to learn and grow. Treating people with respect and staying committed to everything, regardless if it's challenging or not, has also been key.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I have received is to always take ownership of my work and never stop learning. I've also been advised to take responsibility, step out of my comfort zone to balance life, learn to adapt, and look for ways to improve not only myself but processes and people.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering healthcare to believe in themselves, be willing to learn, and not be afraid to speak up. Take ownership of their work, be accountable, and not be afraid to take up leadership when the opportunity comes. Most importantly, do not limit themselves and step forward to grow or lead.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I've had opportunities to grow and take on more responsibility, starting in healthcare office management developing skills in administration and billing documentation, then moving into larger healthcare operation roles, and expanding knowledge into technology and agile processes, earning my Scrum Master Certificate. The biggest opportunities have been to keep learning and stepping into leadership roles.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is a big thing for me. My faith, compassion, and accountability are important, especially compassion because without it you can't function in this industry. I also value family.
