Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sammy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to a lot of the lived experiences that I've been fortunate enough to have. That has put me in the mindset of giving back to others and leaning into different types of relationships. My network is incredibly vast. My mission in life is to take pride in all that I do, have respect for others, live with purpose, be kind, and aim high. Reflecting on those values helps me go forward with authenticity and purpose.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's not just about having the loudest voice in the room but bringing people together around a shared purpose. Active listening is incredibly important to understand what people are looking for. While it's important to have a voice, it doesn't always have to be the loudest to make an impact. Put out your authentic self and your bright light to create energy in the room.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges are on the landscape of education and finding people with that philanthropic heart. Unawareness is an opportunity, like sharing programs where residents can redirect state tax dollars to scholarship organizations instead of just out-of-pocket money. Our motto is boundless love and boundless opportunities.
