What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to self-motivation, continuous learning, and resilience. My career has been built on determination and a deep drive to master every skill I pursue. Along the way, I’ve learned invaluable lessons from influential mentors and maintained a hands-on commitment to patient care—experiences that have shaped me into a dedicated leader across multiple medical disciplines.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “Never stop learning—education and experience are what keep you valuable.” This guidance has shaped my professional journey, reminding me to continually grow my expertise and stay at the forefront of evolving medical care practices. It’s a principle that has fueled my dedication to lifelong learning and excellence in every stage of my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the medical field is simple: work hard, stay curious, and always keep your integrity. Pursue education relentlessly and seek mentorship early—it can make all the difference in your growth and confidence. Don’t be discouraged by the slow pace of career advancement; every step, no matter how small, builds your foundation. I strive to help new medical professionals avoid the “five million little steps” I faced early in my career by sharing guidance and creating more efficient pathways to success.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the medical field today is the underpayment and underappreciation of medical assistants—especially in Colorado, where many MAs earn around $20 per hour despite managing vital clinical responsibilities. I see this challenge as an opportunity to advocate for better education, training, and fair compensation for MAs. By empowering these professionals, we not only elevate their role but also strengthen patient care. Improved patient retention and positive word-of-mouth are natural results of well-supported, motivated teams—and that’s how clinics and the profession as a whole can truly thrive.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, compassion, and excellence are the values that guide me in both my work and personal life. I believe honesty and empathy are the foundations of strong, lasting patient relationships. I also place great importance on continuous education and professional growth—striving every day to set a standard of excellence that inspires those I mentor and work alongside.
