What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my love of teaching and sharing knowledge. I learn best by helping others understand processes, and one of my proudest achievements was streamlining company procedures related to contractor management. For this work, I received an award and was flown to New York City to accept it. At Turner, I’ve been fortunate to participate in the School of Business’s “School of Learning,” where I’ve been able to teach subcontractors about payroll and business practices, helping them save time and operate more efficiently. While public speaking isn’t my favorite, I find great satisfaction in teaching and mentoring others. The best career advice I’ve received is simple: you have to love what you do.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is navigating slower business cycles, with much of the work planned for 2025 being pushed into 2026. Rising costs, particularly for materials like lumber, are also impacting project budgets and overall profitability. At the same time, I see an opportunity in maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with my team. I treat my coworkers like family—many have known me for over 20 years and have seen me grow both professionally and personally. Valuing their input and fostering a positive work environment helps us adapt to challenges and continue delivering quality results.
