About Sandra
I went to film school at UCLA because I really wanted to make movies, inspired by Star Wars when I was a little girl and wanted to make science fiction type movies. I graduated in 1995 and had a hard time finding work as a female back in the day. I was working undercover security for department stores while in college and after graduating. A manager informed me her husband was a post-production supervisor for an adult company and I started out putting compilation tapes together. They moved me into a senior editor role when they realized I knew what I was doing, and that's where I've been for the last 30 years almost.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I decided early on that if I was going to work in the adult industry, I was going to make sure that I was one of the best editors. I approach each film as a mainstream movie and make it look as mainstream as I possibly can. That has helped me become respected by many directors and editors.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to really consider if they want to work in the adult industry because there is a stigma to it and you do kind of get pigeonholed. At the same time working in adult has given me the opportunity to do a ton of different genres like comedy, sci-fi, war movies which I might not have had in mainstream.
