Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sandra
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes down to a blend of strong personal values and a relationship-driven approach to business. I have always prioritized maintaining a human touch in my work, ensuring that stakeholders whether they are parents, executives, or clients feel valued and heard. I’ve found that operational efficiency only goes so far; true success comes from building trust. Anchoring my work in integrity, empathy, and personal connection is what has allowed me to thrive and consistently deliver high-quality results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is simply to be kind on your way up. In any industry, your reputation is your most valuable asset, and how you treat people at every level of an organization matters immensely. Success isn't just about hitting milestones or mastering skills; it’s about the relationships you build and the respect you show others along the way. When you lead with kindness, you build a network of genuine support that stays with you throughout your entire career journey.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My biggest piece of advice for young women entering this industry is never to underestimate the power of active listening. In a fast-paced environment, the ability to be that listening ear, to genuinely let people know that they are important and that their concerns matter, is a superpower. Making stakeholders feel truly heard and valued isn't just about good customer service; it builds the trust and psychological safety that allows operations to run smoothly. Efficiency is important, but empathy is what drives true success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is balancing operational compliance with high-touch stakeholder management. Successfully navigating parent and client concerns while simultaneously managing multiple fast-moving administrative priorities requires a high level of agility. I see this as a great opportunity to implement stronger processes, streamline workflows, and ensure that regulatory compliance and excellent customer service go hand in hand.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
For me, the core values that connect both my professional and personal life are impact, integrity, and adaptability.
Professionally, I’ve spent over 20 years in operations and executive support within healthcare and education. Because of that background, I am naturally mission-driven; I need to know my work is making a tangible difference. Managing federal grants, clinical workflows, and executive schedules taught me that integrity and trust are non negotiable. I take immense pride in being a reliable anchor and a trusted partner for my team.
Personally, those same values translate into being a dependable, supportive person for the people in my life. Right now, as I look to bring my operational skill set into a new industry environment, my value of adaptability is front and center, I love the challenge of mastering new systems, learning a new business model, and finding ways to make processes more efficient.
