About Sandy

Sandra Krysch serves in National Sales and National Account Management at New Life Transport Parts Center, where she specializes in developing strategic relationships, identifying customer needs, and delivering innovative solutions within the heavy-duty transportation industry. Based in Byron Center, Michigan, Sandra brings decades of experience in customer service, sales, logistics, and business development. Over the past eight years with New Life Transport Parts Center, she has supported fleets, dealers, and industry partners nationwide by identifying parts solutions through VIN research, coordinating logistics, and helping customers efficiently maintain their operations.

Sandra began her career with Michigan Gas Utilities, starting as a meter reader before advancing into a pipe fitter role in the late 1990s and early 2000s. After earning her business management degree from Grand Rapids Community College, she joined SoundOff Signal, where she built a strong foundation in shipping, receiving, and international customer service. Her dedication to resolving challenges and supporting customers led her to transition into sales within the heavy-duty industry in 2012, where she discovered her passion for relationship building, problem-solving, and creating effective solutions for complex business needs.

Throughout her career, Sandra has developed expertise in conflict resolution, strategic partnerships, national account management, and operational problem-solving. She has enhanced her leadership skills through the LeaderWorks program led by Paul Doyle and Van Andel Global certification courses. Sandra is actively involved with the Technical Maintenance Council (TMC), part of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), and Women in Trucking. She has also contributed to community initiatives, including four years of support with the Redeemer Christian Foundation, helping provide educational opportunities in Pakistan. Her commitment to innovation, service, and collaboration continues to make a positive impact across the transportation industry.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sandy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, resilience, and maintaining a strong mindset. Working in a traditionally male-dominated industry has presented unique challenges, but developing thick skin, staying confident, and continuing to push forward have been essential to my growth. I have learned the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and believing in my abilities while building meaningful relationships and proving the value I bring to the industry.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to find what you truly love and pursue it, because when you are passionate about your work, it never feels like a burden. I believe that identifying your strengths, continuously developing your skills, and applying them in a meaningful way allows you to create value and find fulfillment. When you are doing something that aligns with your talents and interests, even challenges become opportunities for growth rather than simply feeling like work.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self-worth. Having thick skin is essential, especially when navigating challenges in a traditionally male-dominated field. Know your value, trust your abilities, and never settle for less than you deserve. Stay determined, advocate for yourself, and do not be afraid to take up space, pursue opportunities, and continue growing professionally.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is overcoming assumptions and stereotypes about women working in the heavy-duty transportation industry. At times, people may underestimate my knowledge and expertise simply because I am a woman, and there are situations where customers initially request to speak with a male representative. I have learned that not everyone will immediately recognize the value women bring to traditionally male-dominated industries, and it is important to remain confident, demonstrate expertise, and know when to advocate for yourself. Choosing the right battles, continuing to build credibility, and creating opportunities to educate others are essential parts of driving progress and change in the industry.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, humility, and the willingness to ask for help when needed. I believe in being transparent and straightforward, but always with a human touch and genuine respect for others. I have learned that you do not have to carry every challenge on your own shoulders, because success comes from collaboration and having a strong team around you. Trusting others, supporting one another, and recognizing the value each person brings are essential to building strong relationships and achieving shared goals.
