About Sandy

Sandy McKinney is an experienced insurance professional and Insurance Advisor at EAB Insurance Group, where she has built a career focused on helping individuals and families protect what matters most. She began her insurance career in 1989 with Meaney Insurance Services, starting as a receptionist and progressing to a commercial lines assistant before becoming a licensed insurance agent in 1995. After 15 years with the agency, she joined PLI / HUB International as an Account Manager before moving to EAB Insurance Group in 2006, where she has continued to serve clients for nearly two decades. Throughout her career, Sandy has developed extensive expertise in personal lines insurance, particularly home and auto coverage, as well as account management, and customer service. She holds a New Jersey Producer's License and is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance, with additional non-resident licenses in New York, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and North Carolina. Her professional commitment and client-focused approach have earned her repeated recognition as a Five-Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional, including recognition in 2026 and numerous previous years. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Sandy is committed to service, faith, and giving back to her community. She is part of the women's ministry at St. Mark Baptist Church in Burlington County. She credits her faith, mentors, and the relationships she has built throughout her career as important influences on her success. Sandy's approach to insurance is grounded in listening carefully to clients, understanding their individual needs, and providing dependable guidance based on trust, honesty, strong ethics, good morals, and a commitment to doing the right thing.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sandy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success above all to God, whose guidance and faith have shaped my personal and professional journey. I am also grateful for the mentors, supervisors, and leaders who believed in me and gave me opportunities to grow, especially Tim Meaney, who supported me early in my career, as well as Doris “Dee” Zampella and the team at EAB. Their trust, guidance, and encouragement have played an important role in where I am today.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to listen. In insurance, taking the time to understand a client’s needs and circumstances allows me to recommend the right coverage and solutions. Listening is especially important when working with an upset client—I first seek to understand their concerns and what happened before focusing on how I can help resolve the issue.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the insurance industry is to be patient and ask questions. Learning the systems, policies, and responsibilities can feel overwhelming at first, so don’t be afraid to seek guidance when you’re unsure. Building confidence with technology and client relationships takes time—focus on learning, growing, and taking it one client, one situation, and one step at a time.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of my biggest challenges is managing a substantial workload with limited staffing while continuing to provide responsive, high-quality service to my clients. Although opportunities for advancement within my agency are limited, I’m content in my client-facing role and genuinely enjoy the work I do. For me, success isn’t defined by moving into management—it’s about serving my clients well, doing meaningful work, and finding fulfillment in what I do.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are trust, honesty, strong ethics, good morals, clear communication, gratitude, and always doing the right thing. These principles guide how I serve my clients, support my company, and build meaningful personal relationships. My faith in God is also foundational to my life, reminding me to approach every situation with gratitude, integrity, and purpose.
