About Sandy

I've been in food service and facilities management for 28 years, working for Sodexo in the corporate service sector where we provide food services for business and industry clients. We run cafeterias in corporate environments, manage free food programs, and handle catered events for our clients. As Senior Director of Client Finance, my main area of expertise is finance, handling budgeting and forecasting, and serving as an escalation point for our clients and internal teams. I'm involved in the sales processes and all aspects of the business. What I consider my most notable professional achievement has nothing to do with me, but with my team. I've mentored many different women, and some men too, but predominantly women, who have come from lower levels in the organization and helped them work their way into management positions. This has resulted in my direct line looking more female than male, with almost entirely women working in finance within my organization. At this point in my career, that is probably the most important thing I do - mentor and help develop the women underneath me. What's really interesting about my background is that I'm not college educated in finance. I have some education but didn't finish my college degree. I came up through the ranks and learned hands-on. I started as a frontline worker and worked my way up to where I am now. It's really just been a tactical response to trying something new, conquering and mastering a skill set, and just keep moving from there.
