Her Story

About Sandy

Sandy Tawasha is entering her third year in the aesthetic medical and med spa industry. She began her career in the cannabis industry in California, where she owned part of a brand, handled sales, and worked as a grower. With the economy presenting challenges, she invested earnings from that field into a medical office alongside her best friends who are aesthetic nurses. She opened the first office in Antioch and is currently seeking a second location in Santa Rosa while transitioning fully to the aesthetic medical side after recently leaving her roles in nightlife, including bartending and managing at a strip club. A single mother of three daughters, Tawasha has no formal education beyond being an entrepreneur and attributes her success to her children, her future security, and her relentless hustle, which has enabled each med spa to generate approximately 40,000 dollars monthly. She advises giving 100 percent effort or nothing at all and encourages young women to take risks. Her core values center on her Catholic faith, strong family bonds, and dedication to being the best mother possible.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sandy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I contribute my success, obviously, to my kids, but to my future. Growing up in the club and in the cannabis industry, you don't have a retirement, you don't have a 401K, and you don't have a pension, you don't have none of that. So, I just keep working so I know when I'm older, I can retire and live. All I have is my hustle, and it's gotten me so far. I'm, like, now opening my second med spa. We're making about 40 grand a month at each one.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Give it 100%, or don't give it nothing.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Definitely take risks. Take a risk, take that shot. If you have a feeling, go for it. Don't be scared.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Everything is pretty saturated, whether you're in the cannabis industry or you're in the bar industry. You're always gonna have competitors, and you're always gonna have opponents. I think that's just the toughest, is just navigating through the cost of living in California. And being able to run a business and be a mom.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe in God. I feel like God has led me through everything. So, I'm a Catholic. I highly believe in God and listening to Him, because He will talk to you. Other than that, I just believe in family, very strong values and family, and just being a good person. Again, I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I just work and take care of my kids, and I'm just the best. What I'm known for is being the best mom.
