01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most valuable pieces of career advice I received about 10 years ago was that, as you grow as a leader, you will often be balancing multiple priorities, goals, and competing expectations. The key is to stay fully present in the moment, whether you are in a meeting, solving a problem, or engaging with colleagues, rather than allowing your focus to shift to the next task or conversation.
That advice has shaped the way I approach leadership. I believe in building genuine connections with people at work, listening carefully, and making decisions with the broader organization in mind.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I believe that while you may not be able to have everything all at once, you can build a fulfilling career and life across different stages. It is important to be intentional about your career path and to regularly assess where you are in life, whether in three-year or five-year increments.
At each stage, priorities may shift. There may be periods when career growth requires greater focus, and other times when family or personal commitments take precedence. Recognizing these phases allows you to make thoughtful choices without feeling the pressure to achieve everything simultaneously.
Over time, through different cycles of life, it is possible to create a sense of balance and fulfillment. The key is to pace yourself, align your goals with the stage you are in, and give yourself permission to focus on what matters most in that season.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The field of supply chain has been evolving at a very fast pace especially after the pandemic. Companies need to quickly find alternate sources or ways to reach customers such as shifting from brick-and-mortar to online channels. Then came tariffs, geopolitical changes, and now the advent of AI. The common theme is change and how to get more efficient and profitable using AI. This technology will change how we operate like the Industrial Revolution but there will be a settling period. It levels the playing field with quick synthesized information.
